This is the manifesto for
building a social network
around what we value, not what
grabs our attention.

It's time for a change.

Let's change together.

Together, we can shape the
Future of Social, building
networks that reward
deep engagement.

Introduction

Attention, my friend

We deserve better. In this information age, our attention is currency. We pay with it. In return, we are entertained, educated, and, if we’re lucky, moved. But our attention isn’t some prize to be collected, or a commodity to be traded for manipulation. Facing the torrent of information from social media that we can no longer handle, we need change.

We deserve platforms that don’t steal our attention but nurture it. We need platforms that help us focus, meaningfully connect with others, and help us achieve our goals.

Never before have a handful of tech designers had such control over
the way billions of us think, act,
and live our lives.”

The Social Dilemma (2010)

Why

The responsibility to reclaim power online is ours.

With Web3, we can finally have a say in how things are managed. Here, we are the process, not the product. We are the owner, creator, and stakeholder of our own social network. We will have a say on where and how to spend our attention.

No longer will we be satisfied paying our attention to hollow information feeds. As it becomes more difficult to wade through the noise, the need for more nourishing sources of information becomes even greater.

“What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one.”

Neil Postman (2005)

how

Regain attention through reading.

At t2 (time²), we are building a transparent, decentralized, and collaborative social network around reading and writing. We capture the time we spend reading to cultivate relevant content, align incentives, and empower content-driven communities. This power comes with an obligation. Now it’s our collective responsibility to uphold truth, creativity, and knowledge.

Here, content is curated by real people, not algorithms. Through this humane curation, our collective preferences become pools of relevance where value aggregates. And it nourishes a network of content serving us back as public goods.
